Faulty or inadequate machinery and equipment

If you have been injured by machinery or equipment in the work place that was either faulty or unsuitable for the job or insufficient training or personal protective equipment you can claim for your injuries and losses caused by them.

There are strict responsibilities placed on employers to ensure safety and it is often not necessary to establish fault on the part of the employer only that the equipment is not fit for its intended purpose and caused injury.

It is surprising what items of everyday use in the workplace can be deemed “work equipment”.

For example a postman’s bicycle has been classed as work equipment.Circular saw in wood shop or mill

Safety guards that have been removed to speed up production is a serious risk to safety and can cause injuries and lead to Health and Safety prosecutions.
